What Is Yoga Therapy?
‘Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.’ (IAYT definition)
It is a holistic and individualised approach blending the ancient wisdom of yoga with modern therapeutic practices. It’s not just about physical postures—it’s about addressing the whole person as a non dual entity - body, mind, and spirit.
In a 121 yoga therapy session, we work together to assess your personal goals and together create a personalised home practice that supports your health and wellbeing. Whether you’re managing stress, chronic pain, emotional imbalances, or seeking spiritual growth, yoga therapy uses tools like asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and mindfulness to help you restore balance and feel better.
“My 1to1 sessions with Steph have given me a much clearer picture of where I want to be. Now I also have a bank of tools to use to tweak and grow my practice in a manageable way. Steph always seemed to know what I needed and suggested manageable steps to help move me forward. I would definitely recommend.”
Is It Right for You?
Yoga Therapy isn’t about what level you are with your yoga practice or achieving perfect postures, but about finding balance and ease that works for you. Here are some signs yoga therapy could be worth trying:
You struggle to manage your stress or anxiety. Yoga therapy can help you manage stress, calm your mind, and cultivate relaxation. With postures, guided breathwork and mindfulness, you’ll learn how to cope with stress and anxiety to bring more peace into your life.
You have chronic pain or injuries. Whether it’s back pain, arthritis, or a past injury, yoga therapy can gently improve mobility and offer relief, helping you move with less discomfort and support your recovery.
You feel as though you just need a reset. If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your body or emotions, yoga therapy can help you re-establish that connection and promote self-awareness, balance, and clarity.
You’re struggling with emotional imbalance. Yoga therapy can help you process emotions, release tension, and bring emotional healing, so you can feel lighter, more grounded, and in control.

“Stephanie was incredibly empathic, understanding and non-judgmental during our sessions. She listened intently to my needs and provided and adapted my practice accordingly. She always explained why we were doing certain movements and their benefits. She allowed space for my opinions in what we were doing and checked in with me along the way to ensure I was comfortable and whether I wanted to change anything. It was such a pleasure working with her. ”
